Open is a powerful word for children-- especially when it gains them access to a box of cookies! Children with language delays require exposure across a variety of contexts. This type of repeated exposure in which the child hears the word over and over is called "flooding." Here are some ways to flood the word "open" with beginning language learners at the 1-3 word level.
As always, make sure to vary the context to prevent "chunked phrases" such as the word open always being said as "open door." Most importantly, have fun!
