Receptive Language Disorder
What it is:
Difficulty understanding language. *It is important to rule out hearing loss when a child has difficulty understanding language.
What it looks like:
Children with a Receptive Language Disorder may have difficulty with the following:
- Understanding gestures
- Identifying objects
- Following directions
- Taking turns or playing a game
- Answering questions

What we do:
We utilize a home-like atmosphere to teach children language within everyday activities. Parents are strongly encouraged to participate in therapy sessions to promote carry-over and accelerate the learning process.
