A Speech and Language Evaluation provides a comprehensive view of your child's language abilities. Some reasons you may seek a full evaluation include but are not limited to:
A comprehensive evaluation includes:
- Pursuing an Independent Educational Evaluation (IEE) through your school district
- Your child has never had testing
- Seeking a diagnosis (for example, expressive language disorder)
A comprehensive evaluation includes:
- Parent Interview/Case History
- File and video review
- Up to 4 hours of assessment or school observation. Depending on the age and level of the child, the assessment may be done in a single day with a break in the middle, or otherwise broken into 2 days.
- Written report and review with parents
- Up to 1 hour participation in the IEP/PPT meeting by phone
